It's been some time since my last confession... I have to admit, I've been stunned by the amount of support and interest that's come out of the woodwork since my site's been restored. I'm still not sure what to make of the so-called Oculus, but it many of you have shared your ideas on the message boards, and I'm grateful for the help. Neither my internet service provider nor the federal authorities have been of any use, unless being laughed at is useful. We've made a number of fascinating discoveries since I last posted here. The most significant revelation is that the girl presented in the Oculus vision seems to be named Faith Arella, supposedly a tattoo artist doing work for Miss Vix in Seattle, sought after by the Bethlehem Conservatory. I'd like to know how exactly how Faith is associated with the Oculus, or the person or people behind it.Faith updated her weblog with an intriguing video and text message. She said a lawyer handed her a check for $20,000 and an old piece of paper that read "FOLLOW YOUR VISIONS." I wonder what she's going to do with all that cash? Earlier in July, at the San Diego Comicon, several people emailed me with some pics of temporary tattoos being given out. Looks like Faith's work--I guess she was advertising her services. Maybe she's going to use her new-found money to pay for the marketing expense? Here are the pics, click to enlarge: Trying to stay afloat... |

The Oculus has opened!!!
What a week! Getting the site bugs out now that I've got possession once again. It's great to see so many people jumping on the message boards - we're putting together some really amazing discoveries already! But before we go too fast, let's get the first things out of the way. If you can see the photo right below this text - then your jaw is probably on the floor as low as mine. The countdown struck zero on Monday July 17th and hung there for a minute. REFRESH REFRESH until my fingers were sore and bang - this sphere starts floating in the middle of my screen, orbited by a glowing ball. Everyone has been noticing a few things right off the start - the sphere moves as you move your mouse around the screen and the only thing that allows us to interact is the turquoise symbol hovering on the edge of the orbiting hologram. When you click on it... The entire Oculus spins around - revealing runes that look etched into the tiles on the surface. Does anyone have a lead on these? I have seen some similar examples in Enochian but nothing that seems to match exactly. My initial reaction is that this object looks hand made, carved into tiles and molded into a sphere. Inside we find this: This looks like some kind of combination lock, with three concentric rings that spin independently. Rudimentary and simple, the lock opens by aligning three symbols - there does not seem to be any difference depending on which symbol you choose. When you open this lock, a bright light washes everything out and enters a sequence of clouds that rush out toward you. A still image of one of the clouds that appears in the Oculus - seems to be pointing us to a school found at bethlehemconservatory.org - they have absolutely no references to the Oculus on their site. Why would this school have their crest in this vision? Finally the Oculus ends with this image - a girl looking off into the distance. This girl seems to reappear many times in the sequence along with a young girl - is it the same girl? We have a hunch that she may be Faith Arella, who has just started a weblog and works at Vix's Tattoo Parlor. |

Can anyone tell me what is going on???
For the past two weeks, this web site ( Yes, the one that has been in a state of perpetual construction seemingly forever. I don't need to be reminded! ) has been constantly re-routing to an annoying animated countdown clock. Nobody has been able to help me out here despite my many attempts to resolve it. My internet service provider has been pretty useless too. And now, all of a sudden and due to no apparent action on my part , I have my site back while the countdown page has been replaced with a strange object which I recognize as an “Oculus” (more on this later). Before I go further, it is actually a coincidence that my site and this object have strangely similar names. This Oculus and my site www.oculareffect.com ( a source of investigation designed to “turn the lens” on paranormal phenomena ) are in no way related. Most of my friends will be aware that I have been talking about this site for years and was on the verge of relinquishing the project altogether. So this occurrence is just one of many strange coincidences that have been plaguing me culminating in many threatening messages of an extremely personal nature that are certainly connected . Whoever is behind this harassment should be aware that I have contacted the FBI . If anybody can help provide some insight on the persons responsible, please let me know by posting your comments here. I'm removing all my contact information until this issue is resolved. I'd really be grateful for any information you could provide. I'd also like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem or heard of something similar. EYES WIDE OPEN |

About Me
Professor Kane Winthrop is currently Co-Chairman of the Southwest Noumenal Society, and author of several published articles on Quantum Mechanics. Professor Winthrop received his MA in Particle Physics and his Doctorate in Condensed Matter at Withrow College in Massachusetts in the late 1980s. He received Honorable Mention in the 1992 Wertman Prize in physics for his work on interpreting the Copenhagen Theory of Quantum Mechanics. He and others later constructed a unique version of string theory which brought together a multi-dimensional world view with the Standard Model called “brane world.” In 1997, Professor Winthrop relocated in New Mexico and joined a regional chapter of the Noumenal Society, applying the rigors of scientific skepticism to a variety of unexplained phenomena. Professor Winthrop also helped to organize an annual meeting in Noumenal Events in the Southwestern United States, and built alliances between scientists, social scientists, artists and experts in the unexplained. He now contributes to several online journals, writing about paranormal history and practice around the world. He also maintains links with organizations in countries as diverse as China, United Kingdom, Argentina, Finland, Australia, Brazil and the Canada. He currently resides near Santa Fe, where he raises alpacas and Angora goats and studies local ayahuasca medicinal knowledge. |

If you have just stumbled upon this site and are wondering what is going on, then you've come to the right place! To be honest, I wish I had more answers myself but I suppose that is just the nature of mysteries. Here's how it began: Early in July of 2006, my website began to exhibit strange behavior – dropping offline for days at a time and pointing towards a countdown. When the countdown reached zero, the Oculus appeared – a floating sphere covered in unknown symbols. You can easily get to it by clicking the Visit the Oculus button on my right or by clicking this image: There's a small yellow hologram sphere orbiting the larger sphere which you can interact with by moving it with your mouse and clicking on it's blue-glowing symbols – the larger sphere opens and you find a puzzle inside. It's bizarre – these puzzles unlock a sequence that rushes through clouds with images all around. So far there is only speculating around what these images could mean, you can read about it in the Message Board area of my site. That's why I'm gathering a team of investigators to take a look at any future changes. I have come to realize that this is no accident, and I could use your help. If you register on the site with your email, I will notify you when major events take place. You also gain access to the discussions on this site – we're working together to find the truth about this, so everything we have learned so far is being collected there. Here's a list of the places we've discovered (so far!)
